In Epping, racist thugs have ganged together to violently attack a hotel, assumed to hold immigrants, and the people living inside. These racist protests began on Thursday 17th July, but the thugs have called for more racist riots across the UK. Known Nazis were in attendance as well as a local Reform UK councillor who was interviewed saying “they’re trying to dilute the Englishness out of us”.
On social media, comments by supporters called for the lynching of innocent immigrants.
They also attacked a demonstration of around 50 antiracists who stood against the far right. The fascist mob chanted “send them back” and “refugee scum off our streets” “Pedos”, and “Terrorist scum off our streets,” at the anti-racists, as they tried to break into the hotel. Counterdemonstrators were attacked and injured with stones, plastic bottles, eggs, and flour. However the violence soon worsened, leading to the injuries of eight police officers as thugs smashed up police vans and damaged property. The anti-racist counter protest had to be escorted to safety by police – who failed at stopping the violence towards them.
Whilst assistant chief constable Stuart Hooper condemned the violence as “mindless thuggery’ – it is important to note that this racist violence is a direct result of the normalisation of otherisation – fueled by politicians such as Farage and Starmer – who have both quoted Enoch Powell in speeches.
Hope Not Hate, has warned that prominent far-right activists were calling for further violence up and down the UK.
Targeting minorities and vulnerable people fleeing war and persecution does not protect women and girls.
