A whopping 300,000 people have signed up in less than 24 hours to express their support for the brand new political party which will be led by Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana. If this translates into party members – this would mean that Reform is no longer the political party with the highest membership – ‘Your Party’ would be. 

No, the party is not called ‘Your Party’, the name will be chosen democratically by its members during the first inaugural party conference. In fact, everything about the party will be done democratically, shaping the party which truly belongs to the people. 

With 500 people a minute waiting to join the party, this proves that the general public are ready to take on the corrupt billionaire elite. This is no mistake – the party’s messaging stands clear. The system is corrupt and broken. 

As Sultana wrote it in her announcement, in 2029 the choice will be socialism or barbarism.

Whilst traditional tabloid billionaire owned media will overuse the phrase ‘hard-left’ in an attempt to put people off the party – we must not allow people to fall for smear campaigns the party will have to face. 

Corbyn is not a stranger to these smear campaigns. The 2019 election was marked by a widespread and deliberate effort to discredit Corbyn, as media outlets across the UK lined up to attack his character, ultimately favouring one of the least competent Prime Ministers in recent history – merely because Corbyn was and still is in support of  a free Palestine.

As the media, backed by billionaires, will continue to support and praise the likes of fascist Farage, we the people must not let the same mistakes that happened in 2019, happen again. 

We must use our voices in solidarity with all marginalized communities, and stand against the elite who push societal divisions onto us for their own gain. We must educate and empathise with others in society for this party to work, as a party for the people, needs cooperation, understanding, and community led efforts to succeed.
